For my last few entries, I've created my own animated .GIFs that are far more representative of the content with no dark frames, and usually smaller than the Prelinger auto-generated equivalents. I checked the specs of the Prelinger GIFs, grabbed a few screen shots from my movies, optimized them for size, and assembled them into a compliant file with a very old program called GIF CONSTRUCTION SET. This was suggested to me by Prelinger staff.

I named the files according to the convention for naming any uploads. For example, if my movie is named Kraklin.mpg, the associated GIF is named Kraklin.gif
